LST-52 ok vancouver ok “Food Shelter Water” Cassette Tape

Long time project of Jeff Johnson, OK Vancouver OK, back with an album as a trio! 10 songs and 4 bonus tracks. This is the most focused and fully realized OK Vancouver OK release to date. Each member of the band compliments the others while having their own distinct and unique characteristics. The album was produced by Eli Moore of the band LAKE with the exception of the song “Loving You”, which was recorded by Jeff at home, solo. In addition to the cassette tape version, this album is also available on LP by Kingfisher Bluez Records.

Limited edition cassette tape, 100 copies, for the OK Vancouver OK/Katie And The Lichen “Community Over Capitalism” tour! White tapes with pale blue labels. Stand in Vancouver, BC on a sunny day and hold this tape up to the sky, it will be camouflaged. Full color covers and hand stamped labels.

LST-51 Katie And The Lichen “Yours Truly” Cassette Tape

Katie And The Lichen are from Vancouver, BC! This time with 100% more autoharp than previous albums. After a couple of tours with Calvin Johnson and some alone time in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, Katie has emerged with 14 tracks that comprise her sixth full length album. In addition to the cassette tape version, there’s also a self released LP that you can get from her this fall while on tour.

Limited edition cassette tape, 100 copies, for the Katie And The Lichen/OK Vancouver OK “Community Over Capitalism” tour! Clear purple tapes with white labels. Full color covers and hand stamped labels.

LST-49 Lê Almeida “Pré Ambulatório” Cassette Tape

Dinosaur Jr, Pavement, Guided By Voices. These are bands that Lê Almeida takes inspiration from. His band name may be the same as his own name but this isn’t a stripped down solo project. Lê Almeida, from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, creates catchy, buzzsaw indie rock jams, tempered with laid back vocals all in Portugese.

In addition to being the chief songwriter for this group, Lê Almeida also runs the fantastic and important Transfusão Noise Records. He seems to have his hand in all the great indie rock albums coming out of Brazil, whether as a musician, producer, or graphic designer. Since 2007 the band Lê Almeida has released three EPs, three singles, one LP and a split single with fellow Brazilian band Top Surprise.

Pré Ambulatório is a 9 song EP with 2 bonus tracks on the cassette tape version. Highly recommended.

May 18th will also coincide with a brand new Lost Sound Tapes website! This one has served the label well for the last 8 years but it’s time to move into the future. It will still be at lostsoundtapes.com but it will now accept credit card purchases, track inventory, and just generally look different/fresher. Here’s a sneak peek of what it will look like:
